One life ends. Another begins.

Avatar. What else can be said about this monumental achievement? Whether it’s good or not is a debate that still rages, and one I certainly won’t settle. I, for the most part, enjoyed it immensely.

I can’t possibly imagine the level of imagination it must have taken to create this entire world. The detail that is in every speck, every pixel of every frame is absolutely mind-boggling. Cameron has created such a different film from Titanic that it’s hard to see it coming from the same director, aside from the monstrous level of creativity and vision. The acting is surprisingly good, including Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, and especially the Na’vi actors, including Zoe Saldana. A big thing was made about her not being nominated for an Academy Award, and she should’ve been; she’s fantastic.

This was quite a ship for Cameron to helm, and he does so with gusto; this is an experience that is completely unrivaled. Do yourself a service and see this. Even if you think it’s just a ripoff of Dances With Wolves, you can’t doubt the unbelievable world that James Cameron has created is nothing short of extraordinary.
