The Adventures of Robin Hood is the quintessential swashbuckler, a great tale of heroics and daring to thrill any audience of any age. The adventure film has never been better than what you will find here.
This is a well told story, and a well scripted one as well. The vivid Technicolor is quite impressive to watch for a 1930’s film, and the production design and attention to detail is even more amazing. It seems filmmakers of today’s modern age seem to miss the point when it comes to the little details of a film, and they’d do good to watch this film as an educational experience. Errol Flynn is excellent in the role that practically made his career, and Olivia de Havilland is equally up to the task of matching him in every scene; she is one of my favorite actresses, and she is very watchable here.
This is a great film, one that everyone will find something to love in. I highly recommend this one; no matter what your cinematic tastes may be, you’ll definitely enjoy the ride.
